The customer's task

Complete both threads in one operation

The customer wanted fully automatic production with several taps working together, reducing manual handling and labor requirements.

Each workpiece requires one M4 thread and one M5 thread.

A two-part fixture for four tapping spindles

The supplied part measures 21 × 14.6 × 7 mm. The machine positions two parts at the working station so that two M4 taps and two M5 taps can cut all four threads in the same operation.

A vibratory bowl and linear feeder supply the parts. Pneumatic transfer, servo tapping, cooling and discharge then repeat under PLC control. An operator replenishes the feeder as needed.

This arrangement addresses the customer's handling and multi-hole processing requirements. The photographs and video show the completed equipment before shipment.

Operating sequence

From bowl feeding to finished parts

  1. Feed the parts

A vibratory bowl supplies the linear feeder. The operator replenishes the bowl as needed.

  2. Position a pair

A pneumatic mechanism transfers the parts into the dedicated fixture for two-part processing.

  3. Tap four holes together

Two M4 taps and two M5 taps work simultaneously, with servo-driven rotation and feed and automatic cooling.

  4. Discharge and repeat

The pneumatic discharge mechanism releases the finished parts into the collection area, ready for the next pair.

Machine configuration

Servo rotation and feed, coordinated by PLC

A 1.5 kW servo motor drives the spindle system, with a separate 0.75 kW servo motor for feed. The touchscreen gives the operator access to parameter adjustment.

The fixture, feeding path and four-spindle arrangement are built around the supplied part. For a similar project, we review your part geometry, material, thread requirements and output target together.
